All About Nearly Natural
We are talking about Nearly Natural plant reviews. But do you know the story behind them?
The story behind Nearly Natural starts with their horticulturist grandpa, Henry Friedman. He was so enthusiastic about plants that a species was named after him! This inspired the generations to come next, and they wanted to hold close the affinity of their patriarch for plants and flowers.
So, they combined their source of inspiration with inputs from live plant industry experts.
These expert designers would travel around the world to find the best materials in the market. Together, they would try to mimic live plants into silk and plastic, wood, and wire. Checking the plants’ touch and feel, color, and shape and bringing it as close as possible to the real ones, they made their artificial plants. They wanted people to look at their plants and admire them, saying that they were so realistic, they seemed “nearly natural.”
Did you know, they were the first in the industry to incorporate professional plant designers into the team to make their plants look better? These plant designers were people who had worked with real plants, observing and watching them as closely as possible. Because of their experience and expertise and with an inherent liking for plants, customers love their products.
Nearly Natural Reviews: Golden Cane Palm Silk Tree
After going through a couple of Nearly Natural silk plants reviews regarding the Golden Cane Palm, we think you’d like to know these:
Dimensions and Design
Made of plastic and polyester, the palm tree has a length of 45, breadth of 40, and a height of 78 inches and is famously called Nearly Natural’s six and a half foot golden palm. You may call it one of the finest from the multiple palm trees in Nearly Natural’s collection. The plant’s height is measured from the bottom of the planter to the highest tip of the plant.
For that matter, the planter’s dimension is a width of 10 inches and a height of 8.5 inches. Also, for the calculation of width, the most stretched circumference has been considered.
There are multiple trunks of the tree and three hundred and thirty-three palm leaves sprawling across the many trunks. To make the trunk appear more realistic, you get a textured stem of multiple colors mimicking a natural tree instead of a brown stem.
The leaves themselves have also been made lush and green, but not so tacky in green such that you can identify its fakeness. The palm fronds are bright and vivid, and their silky appearance makes them more life-like.

Assembly
Once you order the plant or get it from a store, you will find that it arrives in two pieces. But that doesn’t mean that your tree is broken or anything (unless it actually is). Packing a nearly 7-foot tree is no joke, so it is split into two sections to let you assemble them when it reaches you. But that is easy, so no worries there.
All you have to do is first place the base and then fix the top part of the plant on the base. This two-part split allows you to easily switch places when you want to place the plant in a separate room.
Maintenance
One great thing about fake plants is its need for no maintenance. If being low maintenance was a sport, they would probably win it as trees. But that doesn’t mean that you can throw them away and leave them on their own for centuries to come.
One thing that this golden palm is going to save you from is the continual need for water. You don’t need to water the plants, and there is no guilt of causing their death. However, you will need to wipe them every couple of weeks for the dust accumulated on top of the leaves. So only wiping with a soft cotton cloth is the highest maintenance you’ll need to do.
Versatility
The versatility of fake plants is a good thing to pay attention to. Purchasing a floral plant that needs sunlight and stuff to thrive and placing it in your minimal office corner is not an excellent example of decor. But, with a golden cane palm, you can use it anywhere.
Place it beside the poolside to get a tropical vibe, or place it indoors for a fresh, breezy feel. Even if you want to put it in your office or study space, it will uplift the look. It will not look like a random plant sitting there and making things inconsistent in vibe and outlook. This fits well anywhere!
Accessories
To act as the base of the plant in question, you get a nursery pot. This stabilizes the stem of the palm tree. There are also mosses around the trunk, and on the muddy, mossy surface, the plant looks more realistic.
However, many complain that the planter brings down the outlook of the plant. So, to boost its beauty, you can shift it to a better-looking ceramic planter.
Quality of Materials
You will be more or less upset by the planter pot’s quality if anything. It doesn’t quite add up to the plant’s look, but they had to send something to make the plant stand, right?
You can always change the pot for something that matches the quality of the plants. The plant itself is made of high-quality polyester and plastic. It is a good imitation book.
Realistic
When it comes to looking natural, many have raved about how realistic it looks. Unless you see it from a super close distance, you will not feel that it is fake. So, your outlook when you are assembling the plant will be different from when you look at it. When assembling, it is even possible that you will be upset at the plant for looking fake and giving it out at one point or another. But watch this thing after you’re done!
The color and the detail of the stems and the leaves are beautiful. If you want to make it appear more realistic, you can fluff out the branches and leaves. You can also adjust the stem to give it a more natural look. Making it appear twisted and the stems swirling around each other would be better suited than straight ones, and fluffed out leaves will help achieve the full look.
Also, putting it around a corner uplifts its beauty more than just making it stand midway in the hall. To make it appear further realistic, you can place it under soft, golden light instead of regular fluorescent bulbs. All of these together will make sure that you have a living palm in your living room, which, in reality, is fake!
FAQs
Why are fake plants so costly?
One reason for fake plants being so expensive is that they last really long. So you’re making a one-time investment for something that can last you decades if you care well for it, and it still looks the same as it did at first. And like we said, caring doesn’t go a great distance with fake plants, so you don’t have much to lose if you’re paying a big sum here.
Are artificial plants made of toxic materials?
Cheap forms of plastic can be toxic. Most plants now in the market are made of non-toxic polyester.
Is it alright if I decorate my house with fake plants?
Yes. It is perfectly alright to use fake plants for decoration if you can’t handle or let the real ones thrive in your home. Also, if you live in a dark and enclosed space where natural plants can’t grow, whether you are at fault or not, it is ok to go for fake ones.
Can fake plants in any way make you happy?
Plants are a great mood booster, whether fake or real. So even if you won’t get the real, looking-at-nature vibe, you will definitely feel happier being around artificial yet realistic plants instead of a plain white room.
